A throne speech will open the fall session of the Manitoba legislature this afternoon. The Brian Pallister government is expected to focus on fulfilling its promises from the summer election campaign, including elimination of the  the provincial sales tax on home insurance, wills and tax preparation. Other expected highlights include small tax cuts and loosening some restrictions on businesses. The legislature is scheduled to sit for three weeks before the winter break.
