The need for speed has cost one driver dearly.

Last week, a silver Ram 1500 was clocked going more than double the posted limit south of Balgonie.

RCMP say the driver was doing 124 km/h on a grid road with a 60 km/h limit.

The person was slapped with a $955 fine, and had the truck impounded.
