Court Appearance Made by Man Charged in Serious Assault Case from 2016

A new court date has been set for a Muscowpetung First Nation man, charged following a serious assault on the reserve, in the fall of 2016.
35-year-old Wade Morris Lerat was to have stood trial last month, in Regina Court of Queen’s Bench, on numerous charges, including Kidnapping and Aggravated Assault, but the case was instead returned to Regina Provincial Court.
His next appearance there will be next Thursday (12th).
Lerat and two other men, who have since been convicted and sentenced, were charged following an alleged incident, which took place on September 18th and 19th, 2016, in an isolated part of the reserve, that resulted in a 42-year-old man requiring hospital care.
