SaskPower is warning customers of a phone scam.

The provincial electrical utility says scammers are calling people offering smart meters for $900, and a call-back number that will take customers to a menu that sounds similar to SaskPower’s.
SaskPower is installing, free of charge, 20 thousand smart meters at businesses, but don’t have one for residential use as yet.

Anyone who receives a scam call, they are advised to hang up and call SaskPower immediately.
