Big Donation Made to the Health Foundation Towards Purchase of Equipment for Yorkton Hospital’s ICU

A major donation has been made to the Health Foundation to help with buying new telemetry monitoring equipment for the Yorkton Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
Edgar and Doreen Thorson donated 10 thousand dollars in memory of Edgar’s sister Esther Thorson, who worked as a nurse and was the Director of Nursing at the hospital from 1982 until her retirement in 1989.
Edgar says in a news release his sister knew the importance of good nursing and having the proper equipment, so making this donation is appropriate.
Health Foundation Executive Director Ross Fisher says a commemorative plaque, recognizing the contribution, has been placed in the ICU waiting area.
