E-Health Saskatchewan is the most recent victim of a ransomware attack, but says they will not be paying. The company that manages the electronic files for the Saskatchewan Health Authority says the attack was on Sunday, but it was immediately detected by antivirus software. It says some of the administrative systems were impacted and so some files have been encrypted, meaning they’ve been sort of locked down and requests for ransom have been issued. It’s unclear how long E-Health’s system will be affected while staff rebuild the servers.
