Melville Hires A New Garbage And Recycling Collection Firm

Ottenbreit Sanitation Services has been chosen to provide bi-weekly garbage and recycling pick up in the City of Melville for the next 10 years. One reason for the change was finding a way to extend landfill’s useful life, and it’s believed moving to a single stream recycling system with OSS will help divert 30 to 40 per cent of material from the landfill. The service has a combined cost of 8 dollars a month per household. Melville-based Better Call Cleaning provided garbage pickup to Melville residents for the past 14 years.
