Speaking at the SUMA convention in Regina this morning, Premier Scott Moe says the province will appoint a special mediator, but only if one thing happens with that one thing being that all barricades be removed and all illegal activities come to a stop.
Moe adds if Unifor does not accept this offer that it is his expectation that Regina police will uphold the law, enforce the court order and remove all barricades at the Co-Op Refinery, He says this will ensure important fuel is supplied to communities across Saskatchewan for many things including the industries that drive our economy like agriculture and mining.
Moe also announced overall funding under the municipal revenue sharing program will increase by $27 million in 2020-21 which brings the total to a record of $278 million. Moe told delegates at the convention this massive investment will position municipalities across Saskatchewan for the new decade of growth and to continue making key investments in their communities.
