APAS Says The Carbon Tax Has Hit Sask. Farmers Hard

The carbon tax will cost the average 5,000 acre Saskatchewan grain farm between eight to ten thousand dollars this year. That estimate comes from a costing review conducted by the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan. It covers several farm expenses not exempt from the carbon tax such as grain drying, rail transportation, trucking, heating and electricity. APAS is calling on the federal government for a carbon tax exemption on all farm expenses, including those from 2019.
