A part owner of Melville-based Better Call Cleaning told Melville City Council last night detailed the impact moving to a different garbage and recycling pick up system could have on the city. Berta Medeiros pointed to jobs losses as Better Call Cleaning employs a 3-person crew for garbage pickup, as opposed to Ottenbreit Sanitation Services having one person operating a truck with a mechanical arm attachment. Melville is in the process of switching service providers from Better Call Cleaning to OSS.
