Sentencing has been handed down to a 23-year-old Punnichy woman, charged in connection with a shooting in Regina last April.
Janaya Kinequon was arrested after a 20-year-old man showed up in hospital with serious injuries from a gunshot, on April 19th.
Police say the shooting appeared to be related to an incident involving a group of children and two adults, in which a physical altercation escalated to gunfire.
On February 5th, Kinequon plead guilty to Assault, Uttering Threats, Possession of an Unauthorized Firearm, and Failure to Comply, with the remaining charges, including one count of Attempted Murder, stayed by the Crown.
Yesterday (WED), in Regina, she was sentenced to 53 days in jail on top of time already served, to be followed by 12 months of probation.
