Trial Dates set for Abernethy Couple Accused of Assaulting Police

Two Abernethy residents arrested following an incident last month, in which they allegedly assaulted police officers, were back in court yesterday (Thu).
Around 3 a.m. on January 19th, RCMP were called to an Abernethy home, to deal with a domestic dispute, and when Mounties tried to arrest the man, both suspects became aggressive, allegedly assaulting the officers.
A taser was used on the woman, to no effect, and the man tried to grab it from the officer.
The arrests were made after additional officers were called to the scene.
25-year-old Brandon Poorman and 20-year-old Marlee Quewezance each plead “not guilty,” with Quewezance’s trial set for May 7th, and Poorman’s trial set for June 1st, both in Fort Qu’Appelle.
