When the next Saskatchewan election is called, there will be a new MLA in  the Saskatoon-Riversdale riding.

Danielle Chartier, who won a  2009 byelection to replace former NDP Premier Lorne Calvert, has announced she’s leaving politics to concentrate on family.

Chartier, who was re-elected in 2011 and 2016, is the 4th NDP MLA who will not seek another term.
