After the NBA has announced the suspension of the rest of the 2019-2020 season due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the rest of the NHL season is up in the air.
In a statement this evening (Wed), NHL officials are consulting with medical experts and will evaluate their options for the rest of the 2019-2020 season.
The NHL Players Association remains in continuous contact with the league, which will release an update on the status of the league at an undisclosed time tomorrow (Thur).
So far both the San Jose Sharks and the Columbus Blue Jackets already announced that their home games will be closed to the public for the time being due to mass gathering bans in the respective states.
Eleven NHL teams share a venue with an NBA club that plays out of the same city.
