The Saskatchewan government has provided a new update on the COVID-19 situation in the province.
In an update Saturday afternoon, the province announced there are 17 new positive cases and one presumptive case.
The province now has 44 cases in total, with 25 cases confirmed and 19 presumptive.
The government has also announced that the Roy Romanow Provincial Laboratory is now able to do confirmatory testing for COVID-19, meaning tests won’t have to be sent to the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg, meaning test results can be confirmed more quickly.
With that, all of the new cases reported today in Saskatchewan have been confirmed, and the government will no longer report on presumptive cases.
