Municipalities Of Saskatchewan President Thankful For Those Providing Essential Services

The President of the Municipalities of Saskatchewan (MOS) says we need to be thankful to those who are out in the community still working to provide the services we all require, and those who can work at home can show their support by being responsible, and following the guidelines put out by the province and the Public Health Department.
Gordon Barnhart says a webinar held this week, was to update municipalities on COVID-19.  It had five presentations over a one-hour period, in an effort to reinforce the education around preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Barnhart says the municipalities have closed town offices to the public, the recreational facilities, swimming pools, rinks and those sorts of things, but there are still a lot of people who are having to work in the community like sewer and water, garbage pick-up and snow clearance.
The webinar had over 330 municipalities out of 440 municipalities in Saskatchewan participating.
Barnhart says the message has to get out to those travellers that they have to self isolate, they have to take special precautions, and for everyone else out there, you may be a carrier of the virus without signs or symptoms, so you have to do the proper hygiene and social distancing.
