COVID-19 Update – March 29th, 2020

Saskatchewan – 30 new confirmed cases for a provincial total of 134. 4 patients have recovered, 6 have been hospitalized.

Manitoba – 25 new probable cases for a provincial total of 64. One death has occurred directly because of COVID-19. One patient is in critical condition. Public Health Act will come into effect on Monday, limiting public gatherings to 10 people and mandating retails stores maintain one to two metre distance between individuals.

-Checkpoints have been set up at four Manitoba boundary crossings with Saskatchewan, due to COVID-19. The checkpoints are located on Highway 1 between Moosomin and Virden, Highway 16 between Langenburg and Russell, the highway between Calder and Roblin, and the highway between Redvers and Reston.

-Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that anyone showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be barred from boarding domestic flights and trains. He adds that airlines and trains will be responsible for screening passengers.
