Manitoba’s Independent Investigation Unit has finished looking into the circumstances that led to a 62-year-old man being injured by the Russell RCMP.
On October 31st, Mounties were called to the Russell Hospital for assistance in locating a male who had a history of alcoholism and dementia.
Officers found the man, and in the course of taking him into custody, an altercation occurred that resulted in the man sustaining a broken jaw.
The investigation recommends no charges be laid against the RCMP officer.
