COVID-19 Update for May 13, 2020

**Saskatchewan reported five new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 573; 11 more recoveries; 193 active cases of the virus and 11 people are in hospitals including 3 in intensive care.
**Manitoba reported one new case of COVID-19, bringing their total to 290; 4 individuals are hospitalized including one in intensive care; 251 people have recovered, leaving 32 active cases and the number of deaths remains at 7.
**The Manitoba government is investing up to ten million dollars in Green Team projects, to support over two-thousand jobs for summer students, while assisting community-based organizations and municipal governments during the pandemic and help build the province’s economy.

**As of Tuesday morning, Canada had 70,342 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 5,049 deaths; over 1 million 145 thousand people have been tested for the virus with 6 per cent positive and 33,254 people have recovered.
**Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced one-time tax-free payments for senior eligible for Old Age Security pension as well as the Guaranteed Income Supplement. The PM also announced an additional investment of $20-million into the expansion of the New Horizons for Seniors program, to create more programs to improve the quality of life for seniors.
