Canada surpasses 75,000 COVID-19 cases, with 5,595 deaths across the country to date

Canada’a Chief Public Health Officer has provided an update on the latest figures regarding COVID-19 across the country.
Dr. Theresa Tam did not appear in person today (SAT), but released a statement, saying that as of today, there are 75,004 cases across Canada, and there have been 5,595 deaths.
More than 37,274 people, or approximately 50 per cent of cases across Canada are now recovered.
To date, over 1,265,000 people have been tested, with about six per cent testing positive.
Dr. Tam also reminds Canadians to be responsible over the Victoria Day weekend, and obey public health measures, in order to ensure we do not undo the progress made thus far, in slowing the spread of the novel coronavirus.
