Outbreak at Long Term Care Facility in La Loche Health Centre Declared Over by Saskatchewan Health Authority

An outbreak declared at the long term care facility in the La Loche Health Centre is over.
It was first declared on April 17, and is now finished after the standard 28-day period went by without a new case of COVID-19.
However, Medical Health Officer Dr. Rim Zayed cautions that community precautions remain in place and work continues to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the area.
This includes extensive door to door testing, mobile testing, and aggressive contact tracing.
Saskatchewan residents are reminded to follow the guidelines for hand washing, social distancing and self-isolating to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus.
