New Sentencing Date Set for Virden Man

Sentencing has been adjourned again, in the case of a Virden man, who admitted to Manslaughter and Uttering Threats, in connection with a January 2019 death, along with a separate charge of Assaulting a Peace Officer.
At his appearance on Friday in Virden, 23-year-old Bradley Kenneth Tomms was remanded in custody to September 18th.
The charges stem from an altercation on January 15, 2019, at a home in Virden, involving a 22-year-old Virden man and a 27-year-old man from the Canupawakpa First Nation, that sent both men to hospital, with serious injuries.
RCMP were notified the next day, that the 27-year-old man died of his injuries.
