The SJHL’s Yorkton Terriers have approached City council in Yorkton with a request for financial aid for their hockey club.
Corvyn Neufeld, the President of the Terriers board of directors says that the team started the season with a roughly a 60-thousand dollar deficit before the COVID-19 pandemic struck.
Neufeld notes that they were seeking help financially from the city in three areas for a total of roughly 44-thousand dollars.
Yorkton Mayor Bob Maloney says they will be seeking a recommendation from administration for how to move forward as they know they’ll be getting requests like this from another groups as well.
Neufeld said that doesn’t concern them
