Jail Time for Man Convicted of Setting up Fake Online Fundraiser for Humboldt Broncos Following Fatal 2018 Bus Crash

A judge handed down a sentence for a man convicted of creating a fraudulent GoFundMe account for the Humboldt Broncos after the deadly bus crash in 2018.
Court was told Andrij Olesiuk made the account for raising funds for the Broncos and received about 39-hundred dollars.
But rather than donating the money to the Broncos, it was deposited into his personal account and spent.
Olesiuk was found guilty of fraud under $5-thousand and possession of property obtained by crime, and sentenced to 14-months in jail.
