Melville RCMP Warning Residents of Latest Phone Scam

Beware of another phone scam making the rounds.
Melville RCMP have had complaints of someone claiming to be from the Society of Justice and Family.
Mounties say the caller tells the intended victim they have fraudulent charges to their Social Insurance Cards and requesting them to pay fines in excess of $4000.

The caller then instructs victims to go purchase Google pay cards and provide the numbers on the back of the cards.

They ask anyone who’s received such a call to contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre, RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
