Co-op is providing a $43,000 donation to support construction of a new Playground at Sunset Beach at Crooked Lake, south of Melville.
The president of Sunset Beach Recreation, Randy Durovick, says the funds will be used for a $100,000 project to build a new playground and two Pickelball courts.
He says the project will bring the communities of Broadview, Grenfell, Whitewood, Grayson, Cowessess First Nations and other nearby communities to improve the quality of life.
Durovick says fundraising for new playground equipment has been underway since flooding in 2014 and 2015.
Hometown Co-op General Manager Jason Schenn says they are excited to help fund the project and says that investing their communities is a value of what their Co-op is all about.
