The Province of Manitoba has announced financial assistance for the province’s front-line workers, who have remained on the job throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Premier Brian Pallister had the details on the payments, being issued through the province’s 120-million-dollar Risk Recognition Program.
Those eligible for the payments will receive a $1,377 direct deposit in their bank accounts later this week.
As the payments are considered taxable income, the province has remitted a ten per cent witholding tax to the Canada Revenue Agency, to help recipients, when they file their income tax return for 2020.
