A Balcarres district man has made a court appearance after being charged with several weapons-related offences.

21-year-old Mackenzie Desnomie is facing several charges including Assault with a Weapon and Failure to Comply with a Condition of a Release Order, and he will return to Regina Provincial Court tomorrow (Wed).

On Friday morning, Regina Police were called to a report of a firearms offence.

The suspect fled from police on foot, and during the pursuit he threatened an individual at a business with a firearm.

He was eventually arrested and a loaded firearm was recovered, along with a backpack containing ammunition.
