For the first time since 2007, a pay raise will be given to the next Melville City Council.
The current council approved a monthly rate of 850 dollars for Councillors and 23-hundred dollars for the Mayor.
In addition, Councillors and the Mayor will receive a stipend of 100 dollars for Regular and Workshop Meetings that are up to 3 hours long, and an hourly stipend of 25 dollars for meetings that exceed three hours, up to a maximum of 200 dollars.
The new compensation rates will commence November 16th, a week after the civic election.
