One of two Abernethy residents arrested following a January incident, involving the alleged assault of police officers, has entered a guilty plea.
Around 3 a.m. on January 19th, RCMP were called to an Abernethy home, to deal with a domestic dispute, and when Mounties tried to arrest the man, both suspects became aggressive, allegedly assaulting the officers.
A taser was used on the woman, to no effect, and the man tried to grab it from the officer, and additional officer were called in, to help with the arrests.
On Monday (28th), 20-year-old Marlee Quewezance pled guilty to Assaulting a Peace Officer, and sentencing was set for December 3rd, in Fort Qu’Appelle.
Her co-accused, 25-year-old Brandon Poorman, will stand trial on December 17th, in Fort Qu’Appelle.
