Ste. Rose RCMP responded to a report of an armed male making threats towards workers on the Ebb and Flow First Nation on Friday morning.

RCMP say while making the arrest, the 27-year-old man, who was in an agitated state, resisted but was eventually taken into custody.

While in a cell at the Ste. Rose detachment, the man collapsed and first aid was given by Mounties until EMS arrived to transport him to hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

The Manitoba Investigation Unit has been brought in to investigate.
