An update of the Melville pool replacement project.

Director of Community Services Chris Bruce says renos to the Pool House will start sometime this fall, with weather permitting, and the pool design is nearing completion, with excavation on the new basin will start either this fall or early spring.

“In Saskatchewan, we are known for some pretty deep frosts, we are looking at mitigating strategies to keep the frost out of the ground as best as possible to expedite our excavation in the spring,” Bruce said.

There are two companies helping out with the project.

“We have Paradise Pools installing our new pool, and we have a general contractor, Hipperson Construction Limited, doing the Pool House renovations.” he said.

Work for the pool house includes fixture replacement, electrical upgrades and epoxy flooring. Work for the outdoor pool includes the replacement of mechanical systems, decking and fencing.

Bruce hopes to have the project done by late June.
