There will be a new Speaker for this new session of the Saskatchewan Legislature, as an election was held today (Mon).
Long time Sask. Party MLA for Biggar-Sask. Valley Randy Weekes was chosen from 6 candidates that also included local MLA’s Greg Ottenbreit of Yorkton and Hugh Nerlien of Kelvington-Wadena.
Weeks will take over the position from Mark Docherty who previously held the position and was also in the running.
