Yorkton Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Campaign Off to a Good Start

The Yorkton Salvation Army’s Christmas Kettle Campaign is working towards their goal of raising 70-thousand dollars.

Captain Samuel Tim states that they are well on their way to their ambitious goal, as to date, the campaign has raised 17-thousand 178 dollars.

Captain Samuel Tim notes they were collecting donations from the Santa Claus parade on Saturday, and received just under 6-thousand dollars and 800 pounds of non-perishable food.

“It was really good to see the people come around and support the food bank to help those in need in their community.” Tim said.

He also encourages people to help out with the Kettle campaign by manning a kettle at one of five locations in Yorkton: Parkland Mall, Save On Foods, Superstore, Walmart, and the downtown Liquor Store. If interested, call Mary 306-316-0265.
