Roblin RCMP Officer’s Trial Delayed Due to COVID-19

A Roblin RCMP officer facing several charges in connection with an alleged assault, has had his trial delayed due to COVID-19.

In December of 2018, the Roblin RCMP received a report from a third party that a woman may be the victim of an assault.

Following a lengthy investigation, an officer with the Roblin detachment was arrested in June of last year, in relation to off-duty incidents that occurred in 2017 and 2018.

Constable Jason Kitzul is charged with Assault, Assault with a Weapon, and Impaired Driving, and will return to court on January 21st, to set a new trial date.
