Charges Laid After Firearm-Related Incident in OCN on New Year’s Eve

The Pas RCMP charged a 16-year-old boy in connection with a shot fired in OCN.

On New Year’s Eve, Mounties were responding to an unrelated disturbance when they heard a gunshot at a neighbouring residence; they saw two males exit the home arguing, and noticed one of the males had two firearms.

When confronted by RCMP, the male ran back into the home, but later came out after a short period of time and was arrested then released; both firearms were seized.

Mounties say further investigation revealed the suspect allegedly pointed a firearm at another male and fired a shot into a basement wall of the home.

The 16-year-old is charged with Pointing a Firearm, Careless Use of a Firearm, and Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
