Trial Date Set for Man Accused of Numerous Robberies on Muscowpetung First Nation

One of three people ordered to stand trial, in connection with numerous robberies on the Muscowpetung First Nation in 2019, was back in court on Friday (Jan. 29).

27-year-old Muscowpetung resident Jarrett Poitras was remanded in custody, with his trial set for November 1-5, in Regina Court of Queen’s Bench.

In December, one of his two co-accused, 22-year-old Michael Obey of Regina, pled guilty to four charges, including Theft over Five-Thousand Dollars, and was sentenced to 1,066 days in prison.

On March 4th, 2019, RCMP say a convenience store on the reserve was robbed of money and tobacco products, and then on July 23rd, the same store was robbed, and a home on the reserve was broken into.
