Another event has been axed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Camp Bridges has been cancelled for this year, and in a statement, Prairie Mountain Health said it was “a difficult decision but the safety and health of our campers and volunteers is a priority.”

The camp is to help youth, aged 7-15, who have lost a loved one. The Health Region says “it’s facilitated by dedicated trained volunteers who create a warm, fun filled, caring atmosphere where campers are able to enjoy the outdoors and grow in understanding of their grief.”

PMH spokesperson Melissa Peters notes that virtual supports will be available on the Prairie Mountain website, to replace the camp this year.

The organization is hopeful that they can hold the camp in 2022.
