5th avenue in Yorkton between Darlington and Duncan streets will be closed today and tomorrow. The problem is a serious water main break in a 4-inch line, which will take time to fix.
Brad Duncan with Public Works says crews today will clear ice and snow from the area, and hope to have repairs done tomorrow. The bitter cold is the culprit, and Duncan says they’re expecting more breaks will be reported in the next 2 or 3 weeks as the frost settles deeper into the ground.
