Saskatchewan Government Using Up $160-million Contingency Fund

The Saskatchewan government is using the remaining $160-million from the health and public safety contingency fund to cover pandemic-related costs in multiple areas.

$75.6-million to the Saskatchewan Health Authority to relieve stresses brought on by the pandemic, and $17-million for the Tourism industry.

$20-million is allocated to the Saskatchewan Small Business Emergency Payment Program, and $14.2 million for Municipal Grants for Growth.

Created last year, the first $40-million of the $200-million fund was allocated to support the re-opening of schools in the province last September.
