Sask. Speeding Up Process to Get More People Vaccinated Against COVID-19

Saskatchewan will extend the timeframe between first and second shots of COVID-19 vaccines to 4 months, starting tomorrow (Fri).

This falls in line with the recommendation made by the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI).

However, officials note the delay does not apply to long-term care and personal care residents and staff.

In addition, the province also announced the first 15,500 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine will be offered to people age 60-64 and phase one healthcare workers, beginning March 22nd.

These doses will be distributed to six major hubs in the province.

All doses will be administered on a by-appointment basis, and the phone-in booking system will be launched next week.
