Farm Hand Training Course Available to Address Labour Shortage in Ag Industry

Parkland College has teamed up with the town of Lemberg to offer a Farm Hand training course.
The college’s Connie Brown says it’s an introductory course for potential farm labourers.
“It’s pretty well-known that there is a shortage of labour in the Agriculture industry,” Brown said.
The focus is on safety when working on a farm and with equipment, and while initially it’s ahead of spring seeding, they’re looking at running another one ahead of harvest.
Brown says it runs for 3 Saturdays starting April 17th.
“It’s located right in the town of Lemberg at the hall, and then the hands-on part will be at a farm operator’s yard and using his equipment.” she said.
Brown says there will be 12 spots available, and potential candidates can call the College at 306-786-2760 or go on-line to www.parklandcollege.sk.ca for more information.
