Yorkton RCMP have received complaints of attempts of fraud in the area.

RCMP say culprits posing as representatives of Shopper’s Drug Mart have been calling individuals, requesting personal information under the premise of updating your personal prescription information.

Upon receiving one’s information, the culprits are then calling financial institutions and attempting to open bank accounts in the victim’s name.

RCMP say if you need to check the credentials of a caller, call your local pharmacy directly to verify their identity.
