The Canadian Union of Public Employees says the Saskatchewan government needs to step up funding for addictions treatment, saying those in need of assistance “can’t wait any longer.”
Last Tuesday (16th), councillors in the resort village of Fort San voted against letting the Pine Lodge Treatment temporarily relocate to that community.
The Pine Lodge Centre in Indian Head sustained heavy fire damage in December, and CUPE says the Moe government has “taken no action whatsoever” to either rebuild or relocate the centre.
CUPE says more long-term funding for addictions treatment is a must, noting that addictions treatment workers are unable to help patients, who cannot get to the treatment they need.
