Manitoba Hits 300-Thousand Mark for Vaccine Doses Administered

Manitoba hit a milestone with its vaccination campaign, as over 300-thousand doses have been administered.

A total of 308,576 doses have been administered and more than 22 per cent of people in Manitoba have received at least one dose of the vaccine, according to the province in a news release.

Health Minister Heather Stefanson says reaching the milestone is important, adding “every person immunized is keeping themselves and all of us safer and better protected from COVID-19.”

Dr. Johanu Botha, the operations lead for the Vaccination Implementation Task Force, says “this is an important milestone” but noted there is still much work to do.

Dr. Joss Reimer, the medical lead for the Vaccination Implementation Task Force, maintains the COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective.
