First Quarter Financial Report Presented At Melville City Council

The first quarter financial results for 2021 was presented to Melville city council.

According to Finance Director Lynsey Swanson, the city has an operating deficit of 1.29-million dollars.

Expenses had increased by 13.66% compared to the first quarter of 2020, while revenues decreased by 2.57%.

An update on the Melville pool project was also brought forward at the council meeting.

The Melville pool project is in danger of falling behind schedule, according to the Rail City’s Director of Community Services.
Chris Bruce states that due to supply chain problems, some key parts have not arrived, creating lost time on the project.

To date, Hipperson Construction has completed demolition within the pool house and have started on interior upgrades.
