A Dauphin man is in custody on charges from a report of an attempted kidnapping in that city.

RCMP were told yesterday afternoon (Thurs) that a man allegedly entered a home on 3rd Avenue southeast, with a knife, and forced a 21-year-old woman out of the home. Mounties noted the suspect knew the woman.

Officers found the suspect and the woman, who was unharmed, and the knife was located nearby.

30-year-old Daniel Allen Renner is facing charges of Kidnapping, Breaking and Entering, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose and Fail to Comply with a Release Order.
