Redvers Man Facing Hate Charges Receives New Court Date

A Redvers man charged with promoting hatred, stemming from an Anti-Jewish video posted to YouTube in June of 2019, remains in custody after another court appearance yesterday, and he will be back in Regina Provincial Court on June 3rd.

30-year-old Travis Patron was arrested February 15th, and charged with Willful Promotion of Hate to an Identifiable Group. He remains in custody, and at his next appearance will also be facing unrelated assault charges, dating back fo November of 2019.

The hate charge was laid on the recommendation of the province’s Attorney General, as is necessary in these cases.

Four similar videos and hate speech alleged to have been made by Patron between April and July of 2020, remain under investigation by Carlyle RCMP
