A RCMP officer will appear in court on the recommendations of the Independent Investigation Unit.
It is alledged that on January 8th, an on-duty RCMP officer was driving recklessly and at an excessive speed on Highway 83.
As a result of the investigation, the IIU determined there were reasonable grounds that provincial offences occurred under the Highway Traffic Act.
The officer will appear in Virden Provincial Court on July 16th, facing charges of speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign, and failure to signal a lane change.
