Dialysis services within the Russell Health Centre are expanding from 12 treatment spots to 24, which means the unit will increase its days of operation from three to six, and provide as many as 72 dialysis treatments every week. It’s anticipated all the required support services to accommodate the full capacity of 24 patients will be in place by early July. With the rates of kidney disease growing in the province, Manitoba Health and Seniors Care along with the Manitoba Renal Program continue to support regional efforts to provide additional dialysis options closer to home for rural residents.
